How much is Wegovy without insurance?
NovoCare’s offer checked October 9, 2026 lists eligible new-patient Wegovy pen fills at $199 for two qualifying months, then $349 for the listed standard pen strengths; its HD pen is $399 after the introductory terms. Wegovy tablet self-pay prices range from $149 to $299 by strength. These are manufacturer program prices, not a complete telehealth bill. [1]
Which Wegovy product is being priced
Wegovy is sold in more than one form, and the self-pay terms distinguish tablets, the standard injection pens and the HD injection pen. Ask the pharmacy for the exact product on the prescription before comparing costs. The tablet offer defines a month as a bottle of 30 tablets; the pen offer defines it as a box of four pens. Those package definitions belong beside the quoted price. [1]
The listed tablet amounts are $149 for the 1.5 mg strength, $199 for 4 mg and $299 for 9 mg or 25 mg. These are package-price categories, not instructions for selecting or changing a prescribed strength. A clinician determines the prescription; your financial task is to match that prescription to the applicable offer. [1]
What happens after the introductory offer
NovoCare’s terms identify the pen promotion as two monthly fills for qualifying patients new to the savings offer or NovoCare Pharmacy, for specified starting strengths, through December 31, 2026. An initial amount should therefore not be multiplied by twelve to predict a year of refills. Write down the number of qualifying fills, the later amount and the offer’s expiry. [1]
Confirm eligibility before paying a telehealth enrollment fee. The manufacturer can change or cancel its program, and an advertised starting amount may not match the strength or packaging you are prescribed. Ask the pharmacy to state the price it will actually process now and the amount expected at the next fill. Save that response separately from the provider’s service agreement. [1]
List price and cash-pay offer are different numbers
NovoCare lists Wegovy’s package list price at $1,349.02. That manufacturer figure is not the same as the current eligible self-pay offer and is not a prediction of every pharmacy’s cash charge. A headline based on list price can describe a very different purchasing route from a transaction using the manufacturer program. Ask which route a quotation assumes. [1]
The pharmacy transaction also differs from obtaining a prescription. A telehealth company may charge for clinical visits, membership or other services outside the manufacturer’s medication offer. Obtain those charges separately and compare a medication-plus-service budget. Do not treat a pharmacy program as evidence that a provider’s own consultation is included. [2]
Gentle Health is a published example of that split. It charges $28 a month for its doctor’s care and has patients buy the Wegovy pen from NovoCare Pharmacy, which its page lists at $349 a month for every dose. The two published charges come to $377 a month once any introductory fills are used. [5]
A three-fill budget shows why the initial offer is not the whole answer
For a financial illustration using the current standard-pen amounts, two qualifying $199 fills followed by one $349 fill produce $747 in medication payments. Three fills at $349 would total $1,047. The $300 difference depends on actually qualifying for both introductory fills; it is not a discount promised by this directory. These calculations compare prices for three purchases, not a prescribed dose-escalation plan. If your prescription or eligibility does not match the offer, use the pharmacy’s actual quotation instead of applying this arithmetic to a different package. [1]
The number of fills matters more than calling the example “three months.” NovoCare defines a pen offer month as a box of four pens. That package definition is distinct from the calendar-month interval a telehealth service might use for its membership. Keep drug packages and clinical-service billing dates separate. It is possible for a medication purchasing example and a provider membership example to cover different numbers of days, even though both pages use the word monthly. The quoted package, rather than an assumed calendar definition, should determine the medication calculation. [1]
Use the right price category for a higher-priced presentation
The HD pen has a distinct ongoing amount in the checked offer. Its appearance beside standard pens does not justify applying the standard ongoing amount to every Wegovy presentation. Likewise, the tablet price ladder uses its own package and strength categories. When a quote seems inconsistent with the headline, first check brand, presentation, package and strength. A difference may arise because two quotes describe different products within the same brand rather than because the pharmacy changed a rate for an identical purchase. [1]
This distinction is especially useful when a telehealth company advertises Wegovy without naming whether it intends to prescribe tablets or pens. Ask it to identify the formulation before comparing the manufacturer program. A generic statement that the service can prescribe semaglutide also does not establish access to every Wegovy presentation. Our provider table retains advertised formulations so you can distinguish a documented offer from a question that still needs a product-specific response. A medication name is a starting point, not a complete dispensing specification. [1][3]
Why list price is still relevant without being your likely bill
List price can explain why an unrestricted retail quote looks different from a manufacturer program amount. It is useful as a named reference figure, but a reader should not combine it with an eligible self-pay offer and describe the difference as guaranteed personal savings. That would assume the reader would otherwise have paid the list figure and qualifies for the alternative. Ask for the actual competing pharmacy quotations. A real cash-price comparison uses amounts you can purchase under the applicable terms, with any separate service charges disclosed. [1]
Before paying, retain the pharmacy’s quoted presentation, number of qualifying introductory fills and later amount. If you have insurance, ask about the covered claim as well as the cash route before deciding which financial mechanism to use. Our insurance guide explains that distinction in more detail. The medication quote can be a solid component of the budget while the total care cost still needs a separately priced clinical service; the manufacturer offer does not settle that second question.
